Hi! Quick thank you if you’re reading my stuff for the first time. You’re in for a treat. And if you’ve been around a while, thank you for sticking with me. You may have noticed that as I evolve, so does the work I put out into the world. When Life Gives You Lemons . . .
At the ripe ol’ age of 41, with 3 kids, a household to run, a thriving biz, and a new book I just released well… life isn’t always as peachy as those Facebook pics that everyone posts. Know what I mean?
One thing I can guarantee in my writing is that I keep it real and I deliver real results. Just ask my clients.
We all know the saying “When Life Gives You Lemons…………..Make Lemonade!” but when you’re going through the lemon times, I have found it difficult to muster up the energy, clarity and frankly the wooden spoon, lemons + big ol’ glass pitcher to make the lemonade! 🙂
The good news is I’ve become masterful at working through those lemon times with grace and ease so that my mind (and body) continue to thrive without setting me back. I’d be honored to share them with you, since truth be told, life isn’t a straight line. It’s rigged with curves and bumps and jagged edges that unless you learn how to navigate, will throw you into the depths of binge eating, drinking in excess, sleepless nights, arguing for no apparent reason, the list goes on and on and on.
I know you know what I mean.
So without further ado here you go……..
WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU LEMONS… don’t feel compelled to make lemonade (avoidance tactic if you ask me), YOU HAVE LEMONS. No more, no less.
1. BE OK WITH WHERE YOU ARE AT. Make peace with your present situation. I can’t stress this one enough. When we don’t accept exactly where we are, it is very difficult to get past it. First is acceptance. No pretending or avoidance works at this point. Just noticing where you are so that you have a clear mind and can start to plot your way out.
2. KNOW THAT IT’S NOT PERMANENT. NOTHING IS PERMANENT. So many times when we’re in a “lemon” situation, we feel like we’ll be there forever. Couldn’t be further from the truth. You need to remind yourself every day “This too shall pass!”.
3. MAKE A DECISION. Any decision. I can’t stress this one enough. The reason so many people feel paralyzed when life takes a turn or isn’t going the way they thought is that they don’t make any decisions. They sit with the frustrated feelings all day, replay in their mind what’s not working, eat or drink in excess to comfort themselves emotionally which only pollutes the body and mind and makes it even hard to take action. They just let it all fester.
If you TRAIN yourself to do these 3 things every time you hit a bump in the road and lemons are coming at you from every direction, you will find that you will stay on track and things will improve MUCH QUICKER and for sure all the goodness you were up to prior to the dip will stay in tact. Including your journey to better health, more sustained energy and for sure that tone, lean body that helps you move through life with grace and ease and a little spice!
Love and good thoughts to you today.
